Turner's Talk - 6th June 2009

THE CLOCK GOES BACK!

Gordon Alexander was certainly rewinding the clock on Sunday afternoon as he turned in a vintage display, which netted him the British Championship - a title he last held in 1997.
Alexander started the race from row five and gradually worked his way through the pack as the others fought for the lead. When Stevie Honeyman dived at Craig Barnett both went wide and in a flash Alexander went from third to first and that was that!

LINDSAY WILSON RETIRES

Lindsay Wilson suffered a lot of damage to his ankle and has called it quits as far as racing goes. In a long career Wilson won the track points championship as well as the Scottish Championship and we all wish him a speedy recovery.

LATTKA'S TRIPLE

Jonathon Lattka has had a whale of a time since he reverted back to the stock rods and in the space of a Knockhill and Racewall meeting has chalked up 4 heat wins and a final win!
Lattka goes up to blue and no doubt red the following grading!

DONALDSON GOES NATIONAL

Ian Donaldson has bought Chas Bain's National hot rod and whilst he used his own car on Saturday it won't be long before he brings his National to the track.

FII NATIONALS

This Saturday we have the FII National championship and with it being a solus meeting we might get more visitors that anticipated.
Providing he gets his engine in time Rob Speak will be at the Racewall but then so too will David Polley and if rumours are correct then so will Chris Bradbury.
There could be a few up from Barford but with the Racewall World Championship qualifying round only a week away then we might have a few others appearing for practice.
Stuart Mitchell should be debuting his new RCE chassis whilst there is a strong rumour that Scott Jones will make his return after a year or so on the sidelines.

MINI SCOTTISH

The ministox drivers will be racing for their Scottish Championship on Saturday and it could well be a very open race.
Marc Fortune is the defending champion but the likes of Kyle Irvine, Ross Watters, Gemma Russell, Lyndsey Clyne and Ryan Forbes all have their eyes on the title.
Mind you long distance traveller Robert Gamble would like nothing better than to take the title back south with him.
