Turner's Talk - 16th May 2009

A WILD FEW DAYS!

It might have seemed that Garry Sime was a wee bit off colour on Saturday night at the Racewall but he did have an excuse - not a good one mind you!
Garry got back from Prague on Saturday afternoon at 3.30pm after a few away days with the boys to celebrate former formula II driver Ian Stewart's stag night.
It seems that he had a good time but he was wondering when he will be able to catch up on his sleep!

THOMPSON'S SECOND FINAL IN A WEEK

Ian Thompson chalked up his second formula II final win within a week after winning the World Championship qualifying round down at Barford then the final at the Racewall on Saturday night.

LATE NIGHT

Chris Burgoyne and John Fortune both had to work into the wee sma' hours of Sunday morning after their troubles on Saturday night.
Burgoyne was shunted hard into the top bend wall during the final resulting in the car taking a bit of a hammering.
Later Fortune was in a similar shunt during the GN and ended up on his side.
Burgoyne ended up winning heat and final whilst Fortune had to be content with a third in his heat but then picked up a puncture right at the start to the final.

KNOCKHILL

At the Scottish Motor show at Knockhill on a very wet Saturday there were six formula II drivers on show with their cars. However the rain seemed to be putting a damper on everything until the drivers took to the oval and cheered up the spectators with some fast laps around a very wet track.
Well done Chris Burgoyne, Dennis Middler, Robin Little, Ally Noble, Bryan Forrest and Gregor Turner.
The Knockhill Trioval sees the Summer Series getting underway on Wednesday 20th with the usual 6.00pm start and features formula IIs, stock rods and hot rods with the Racing Legends making an appearance.
