BURGOYNE’S HAT TRICK OF WINS

Chris Burgoyne was in startling form at the Racewall on Saturday night with his self built formula II.
Burgoyne won both of the heats and then the final although he must have been glad to see the yellow flags during the closing stages of the race. George MacMillan Jnr led the cars away but Burgoyne forced him wide on the last bend to nip through to win.

FORSTER TAKES WHITE/YELLOW WIN

Ian Forster is celebrating his down grading to white by promptly going out to win the second round of the white/ yellow formula II challenge series. Guid on ye son???

ROCKIN AND ROLLIN

There was plenty of action throughout the meeting with James Letford and Gordon Brown rolling their prostox in separate incidents. Paul Reid had his wrecked after being shunted into the wall and then hit by a couple of cars.
Barry Russell all but rolled his saloon after a brush with the pit bend wall whilst when David Hogg blew his engine in the formula IIs four cars came to grief on the resultant oil slick!

NEW LIGHTNING RODS

John Sibbald and Alex Sharp brought out their lightning rods to the Racewall on Saturday night, both sporting a black livery!
Sibbald ended up with a second place in the final whilst Sharp had a fourth in heat two. Now all we need is Stevie Burt back with his new car and a couple of more drivers and we could be heading for fields of double figures!

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING TRAIL IN SCOTLAND

Three formula II World Championship qualifying rounds take place in Scotland in a short time scale and could make quite a difference to the number of Scots heading down to the semi-finals.
The first took place at Crimond on Sunday where heat wins went to Chris Burgoyne and Graham Kelly. Kelly led the final for many laps before being sent wide by Gordon Moodie on the very last bend before taking the win with Robbie Dawson in third.
This Saturday it’s the qualifying round at the Racewall where it is hoped for a good turn out of cars and then on Wednesday 22 June the cars head to Knockhill for their qualifying round.

BUCHAN’S HAT TRICK

At Crimond Dale Buchan was in fine form winning all three heats with Camie McGowan, Liam Rennie and Gemma Russell all picking up top three places.

SAIR PAW!

Garry Sime was left with a sore wrist after Saturday night’s formula II racing after colliding with a white grader who was trying to pull off but only succeeded in cutting in front of him.
It was the same wrist that Garry hurt before and had a metal plate inserted and he was left wondering whether to reweld it or what?
