Turners Talk - 18th October 2008
OUCH!
Stuart Shevill Jnr didn't half clatter the wall on the top bend when the throttle on his saloon jammed in the wide open position. There was a fair bit of damage to the car but quick works in the pits soon saw him back out again.
Luckily Stuart bounced out of his car relatively unhurt but I bet he said a bit more than "ouch"!
NO' CHUFFED!
I am in the bad books with formula II driver Trevor Harris! Last week Trevor was back out after a few weeks absence and he somehow managed to crash his car injuring his leg a bit in the process. I was going to say that he strode across the centre green to raid my coffee only to find that I didn't have any!
Trevor is trying to arrange a BOC to get me suspended or get it written into my contract that I must bring coffee with me every week. Huh, does he bring biscuits? I rest my case!
McGILL TO RED
Lee McGill should have won three formula II races at the Racewall on Saturday night but a too good a start saw him penalised in heat one and he was dropped down the order.
However in the following heat and then the final he made no mistakes going through to win and picking up the Turner trophy for his pains. Mind you he now has to look for some red paint for this week!
JAMIESON CRUISES TO HAT TRICK
James Jamieson was in tremendous form in the hot rods winning all three races and picking up the Turner trophy in the process. Jamieson has a big lead in the track points so he looks to be finishing the season on a high.
MARTIN OUT ON A HIGH
Siobhan Martin ended her career in the minis on a high winning all three races and the Turner trophy.
Siobhan looks to be heading into the stock rods, remember her father Paul and mother Tracey each in one? So we will have to wait until the start of the new season to see what transpires.
By the way saw her Grandad, Gerry, in the pits. He's looking good but denies he is about to make a comeback!
TRAVELLER
Well done to formula II driver Jack Brown who took in both the Racewall and Crimond meetings over the weekend. Quite a trek down to Barnsley from Crimond!
