The August speedweekend turned out to be a pretty wet one with the fans having to contend with pretty heavy rain throughout the Knockhill Trioval meeting on Saturday night. It didn’t get much better for Sunday’s meeting at the Racewall although the rain was certainly not as heavy.

SUNDAY – COWDENBEATH RACEWALL

DAKIN CHARGES TO WIN
The MASCAR heats saw Juli Stanford win the opening heat from Dakin and Bath whilst heat two saw Hart-Jones win from Richard Wilkes Dakin. It looked as if Hart-Jones was on his way to win the final only for him to spin on the pit bend and this allowed Dakin through to win from Wilkes and Stanford.

BUNN DOMINATES
There were three less GP Midgets at the Racewall than at Knockhill.
Bunn had a clean sweep in the GP Midgets going through to win heat one  from Bone and Steve Young. In heat two Bunn led home Neil Clark and Young.
In the final Bunn reeled off his hat trick of wins when he led home Young and J. Pooley.

CAREY WINS FINAL!
The track was greasy but the saloon drivers were in good form. In fact Shevill Jnr ended up winning two races and he never crossed the line in the lead!
Shevill Jnr was awarded the first heat from Gordon Alexander and the penalised Barry Russell whilst in heat two Robin Copland went through to win from Adam Low and Shevill Jnr.
Copland was first across the line during the final but he was penalised for an infringement handing the win to Chris Carey with Shevill Jnr
second and Copland third.

MARTIN’S FINAL
David Philp and Kerr Paterson won the stock rod heats but it was Siobhan Martin who won the final from Philp and Michael Bethune.

CUNNINGHAM DONINATES THE LIGHTNING RODS
Cunningham continued his dominance of the lightning rod races winning both to start the final from pole position with Ben Newman alongside.
Cunningham made a good start, Newman got bogged down and that was that!
Cunningham gradually pulled away from the field to win from Wilson and Tam Linden.
