There was no shortage of incidents at the Cowdenbeath Racewall stock car meeting on a warm and sunny Saturday evening with the fans certainly entertained by the drivers’ actions.
In the prostox Grant Weston rolled after hitting the infield tyres and then a couple of laps later Alan Kirby rolled after a brush with the
top bend wall.
Formula II drives Gordon Moodie and Tom Adcroft were penalised places as a result of too quick starts with Moodie losing a race win as a
result.
There were plenty of shunts with Robbie Dawson and Charlie Whitfield falling out and as a result both ended up with a lot of damage to their cars. In fact Whitfield had previously suffered damage when he was sent crashing into the wall earlier but had managed to get his car repaired in time for returning to the fray. Tam Meikle was in a big shunt on the opening lap crashing out on the main straight.
Scott Chisholm was sent crashing heavily into the wall in his saloon and after being assisted out suffering from a foot injury.
With quite a few of the top stock rod drivers down south at a championship meeting it gave the lower grade drivers an opportunity to
shine and boy did they grab the chance to do so.

MOODIE TAKES ANOTHER FINAL
Jason Rainford, Tom Adcroft, David Parker, Carl Shield and Charlie Whitfield were the visiting formula II drivers whilst Jason McDonald
was back in action.
Heat one saw Gordon Moodie go through to win from Garry Sime and Robbie Dawson. In heat two Moodie was first home but he was penalised for an infringement with the win going to George MacMillan Jnr from Sime and Moodie.
When the final started Raymond Dick led the cars away but almost immediately Whitfield spun. On lap two Gregor Turner took over the lead from Jason McDonald. The race was suspended after Rainford hit the wall and lost a wheel. On the restart Turner led the field away and led for four laps before Sime moved into the lead. Moodie took over the lead with two laps remaining and on the last bend Sime crashed heavily into the wall and lost a wheel. Moodie went through to win from MacMillan Jnr and Paul Reid.
Sime won the Grand National from MacMillan Jnr and Adcroft with Moodie finishing in fourth place.

A DOUBLE FRO SHEVILL JNR
In the saloons the drivers were in good form with plenty of contact, spins and shunts.
Stuart Shevill Jnr won heat one from Ian McLaughlin and Stuart Drobinski. Barry Russell came out on top in heat two and he led home I.
McLaughlin and Drobinski.
The final saw Shevill Jnr coming through the field to pick up his second win of the night and led home Willie Mitchell and Drobinski

CALVIN GRABS FINAL SUCCESS
Stuart Elder won the opening heat from Jordan Wright and Robert Stevenson. Heat two ended with Robert Stevenson taking the chequer from Michael Bethune and Trevor Calvin.
Calvin then scored an easy final win taking the lead with three laps remaining to win from Elder and Dougie McLean.

PETE MELROSE TAKES FINAL
The prostox drivers were in good form and there was certainly no shortage of action in their races.
The opening heat saw BJ Mitchell go through to win from Tam Melrose and Lee Smart. Ricky White won heat two from Craig Jones and Tam Taylor.
The third heat ended with Smart winning and he led home Tam Page and Fraser Anderson.
Pete Melrose led the prostox final for most of the time although he lost the lead briefly, but was back in front within a lap to win from Anderson and Ross.
