The last stock car meeting prior to the holiday break at the Cowdenbeath Racewall turned out to be an interesting one with the banger drivers coming out to play leaving wrecked cars littering the track.
In one incident Neil Naismith rolled his car on the back straight and then in the next heat was sent crashing into the top bend wall. The
Coal Power team took a battering in one incident on the back straight which wrecked three of their cars in one fell swoop!
Derek Nimmo ended up crashing his lightning rod during the final hitting the infield barrier.
Ministoxer Gemma Russell survived a high speed spin in the opening heat but was back out only to be sent crashing out of heat three in a three car shunt.

HEEPS MAKES IT THREE IN A ROW!
There was a good turn out of saloon drivers with the opening heat being their second leg of the white/yellow challenge series. Both Johnny Wood and Michael McCombie succumbed to mechanical problems as Alan Ainslie went through to win from Ian Low and Ryan Muirhead. Heat one saw Glen Heeps go through to win from Barry Russell and Stuart Shevill Jnr.
Heeps again charged his way through the lower grade drivers before winning comfortably over Shevill Jnr and Stevie Triggs.
Heeps was through into the lead within a couple of laps of the start of the final whilst a shunt on the top bend saw Barry Russell and Shevill Jnr spin. Heeps continued to pull away from those ahead of him before going through for an easy win over Triggs and Stuart Drobinski.

RENNIE GRABS TWO
The ministox were as usual as exciting as ever with Jordan Smith making his Racewall debut. There was no shortage of contact as the drivers set about entertaining the fans.
Heat one saw Kieran Howie go through to win fending off the challenge from Liam Rennie and Dylan O’Donnell. In heat two it was Rennie who got the better of the exchanges to win from Howie and G. Russell.
There was stoppage in heat three after a three car shunt involving Aaran McGowan, Howie and G. Russell and whilst Colin Thomson led the field away on the restart he was brushed aside as Rennie took over at the front of the field. Once there he charged away to win from Zak Gilmour and Howie.

THREE DIFFERENT WINNERS
The lightning rods were few and far between with Chris Dearns going through to win heat one from David Glencross and Lindsay Wilson. Derek Nimmo then won heat two from Wilson and Glencross whilst in the final Nimmo crashed out as Glencross won from Dearns and Wilson.

BANGER MAYHEM
The banger drivers were in good form as they team raced with four cars per team with the Mob fielding three teams whilst the Extremes fielded two with most of their drivers heading up from down south.
Pete McVay Jnr won the opening heat from Chris Collins and Lee Moore.
Heat two saw a depleted field take to the grid and after a few shunts, a race suspension and a few bent cars Matty Threlkeld took the win from Stevie Allan and Joe Morgan.
There were even less cars out for the final with a couple that did come out pulling off to await the Destruction Derby. Brian Youngson was an early casualty as James Dillon took the lead but he had to retire as Mark Delgarno hit the front. Delgarno began to get caught as Threlkeld fought his way into second place but held on to win with Ben Johnston in third.
The cars went straight into their Destruction Derby and almost right away Dillon was involved in the action and was soon the meat in a
sandwich which killed his car. It was left to Threlkeld to survive a head on shunt to win.
When the points were totaled up in was the Extreme team led by Threlkeld who were the winners.
