The last of the mid week Knockhill Trioval meetings turned out to be an interesting meeting with the hot rod drivers contesting a World Championship qualifying round. The track was greasy at the start but that didn’t deter Billy Bonnar who went through to win all three races.
Chris Burgoyne won the formula II track points championship but Emma Mellis rolled her car during the final whilst earlier Aaron Vaight
bounced off one of the marker tyre, which resulted in him coming to a sudden stop.
Ian Donaldson almost rolled his hot rod after a half shaft broke whilst he was traveling at high speed and as the wheel came adrift his car bounced and spun.

BURGOYNE WRAPS UP TRACK POINTS
Despite the meeting being held on a Wednesday night there were three visitors from south of the border in the formula IIs coming in the form of Richard Hill, Aaron Voights and Sam Wagner.
Alan Kirkaldy won the opening heat from Robbie Dawson and Chris Burgoyne. Burgoyne claimed the second heat win as he led home Kirkaldy and Dawson with Reid.
When the final started Voight was the early leader although just before the half distance Garry Sime took over but had Burgoyne now in close order. Burgoyne took the lead a couple of laps later but towards the end of the race Emma Mellis was edged into the tyres at the end of the back straight and rolled.
Burgoyne made a good restart before going through to win from George MacMillan Jnr and Kirkaldy.
Kirkaldy went on to win the GN from Sam Wagner and Sime with Burgoyne in sixth place.

LATTKA’S OPEN SCOTTISH FLING!
The stock rod drivers were in good form with white grader Davie Kempton leading from start to finish to claim his first ever win and he led home Jonathan Lattka and Alasdair Roger. Kerr Paterson came out on top in heat two and he led home Lattka and Kempton.
Kempton was the early leader when the final started but was soon caught by Jordan Wright. However, he in turn was being caught by Lattka, Philp, Roger and Jack with these four sweeping past into the lead.
Jack moved into second but couldn’t catch Lattka who went through to win from Philp and Roger.

BONNAR DOMINATES
Billy Bonnar had a clean sweep in the hot rod races winning heat one  from Ian Donaldson and Wayne Lee. In heat two Bonnar claimed the win from Graeme Gordon and Graeme Callender.
Bonnar was soon through into the lead when the final started and gradually pulled away from the field going on to win from Donaldson,
Callender and McKenzie.

WILSON DOUBLE UP
Lindsay Wilson and David Glencross were the lightning rod winners and after some very close racing in the final Wilson managed to make a break before winning from Glencross and Tam Linden.
