There were a couple of rain showers at the Cowdenbeath Racewall on Saturday night which created havoc with the drivers although in between the track began to dry but there was never a completely dry racing line.
Despite having a formula II World Championship semi-final at Hednesford on Sunday Gordon Moodie, Chris Burgoyne, Robbie Dawson and George MacMillan Jnr all raced with Moodie picking up a final and Grand National win.
Raymond Dick and David Parker were in a big shunt at the start of the Grand National and were then collected by Stephen Forster whilst in one of the heats Moodie was sent spinning and delayed a few other cars as he did so.
In the prostox Gary Nicholls came off worst in a three car shunt, Pete Melrose was wrecked after getting caught up with back markers whilst Tam Page ended up crashing into the infield fence after being spun.

MOODIE GRABS FINAL AND GN DOUBLE!
There was a good turn out of formula IIs including Charlie Whitfield, David Parker and Mark Dews from south of the border whilst one of the other Scottish qualifiers Dennis Middler had chosen not to race but to save his car for Sunday and Hednesford.
The opening formula II race was another round in the white/yellow challenge series which ended with a win for Marc Fortune who led home Stephen Forster and Ewan Ewart.
The first formula II race was held just after the rain started with drivers trying like mad to find grip. Garry Sime came through for an easy win over Charlie Whitfield and Fortune. In heat two Moodie picked up his first win of the night leading home Chris Burgoyne and Gregor
Turner.
Wullie Draeger led the cars away when the final started but when Jason McDonald lost a wheel the race was suspended. On the restart Turner moved into the lead but soon lost out to Moodie but when Draeger and Paul Reid tangled on the top bend out came the yellows. Moodie managed to get a better restart than Burgoyne before going through to win from Burgoyne with MacMillan Jnr in third.
An early race stoppage allowed Moodie to join onto the back of the field and once the race restarted he quickly worked his way through to win from Whitfield and Dawson.

McLAUGHLIN GRABS EXCITING FINAL WIN
In the saloons there was plenty of entertainment with the drivers having at times to stray off the racing line to make up ground.
The opening heat was a white/yellow challenge round with Adam Low going through to win from Kyle Hegg and Scotty Devine but Mark McCombie suffered gearbox troubles right at the start to the race.
Devine went through for an easy heat one win from Low and Stuart Shevill Jnr. Heat two saw Barry Russell win from Gordon Alexander and Ian McLaughlin. The final was led off by McCombie but he was soon closed down by Low and Hegg with the blue graders soon in close order.
Hegg got ahead only for Russell to take over the lead the following lap. I. McLaughlin was slowly catching the leading cars whilst Shevill
Jnr was also going well.  On the last lap McLaughlin made contact with Russell on the back straight to send him spinning to take the lead but whilst Stuart Drobinski made it through Shevill Jnr clipped the back of his car and half spun allowing Hegg through to claim third place.

DOUBLE GREEN
Plenty of prostox drivers in action which brought out the best of the drivers and there was no shortage of contact and shunts.
Heat one went to Fraser Anderson who crossed the finish line ahead of Dougie Kidd and Kev. Bell. Pete Melrose ran away with heat two winning easily from Grant Weston and Ricky White. The third heat saw Keith Annandale take the win and he was ahead of White and Tam Melrose.
Although Bell led the final for a considerable time Johnny Green caught and passed him on his way to his first win of the night leading home Tam Taylor and Bell.
The Allcomers race saw Green go on to win and this time led home Ian Taylor and Ally McDonald.
