Results - 11th June 2011

The weather played a big part in the outcome of the racing at the Cowdenbeath Racewall on Saturday night with the drivers struggling to get grip on a wet and greasy track surface.
The rain had started late morning and drizzled all through the meeting and only showed signs of letting up once the meeting had finished.
Alan Stirling dominated the saloons winning all three races whilst Ian Donaldson did likewise in the hot rods although the hot rod drivers were saving their cars for a World Championship qualifying round.
As usual the minis were in top form with plenty of all out action which saw numerous cars bouncing off the wall whilst Kieran Howie scored his first win in heat two.

BURGOYNE TAKES MAX!
There was a disappointing turn out of formula II drivers with no fewer than four of those who had booked in failing to appear. However Jack Aldridge made the long trip from the south west for the meeting whilst Paul and John Broatch, Tom Adcroft and Sam Wagner were visitors from the north east of England.
The opening heat saw Adcroft go through to win from J Broatch and Paul Ford. In heat two Chris Burgoyne won from Robbie Dawson and Garry Sime.
George MacMillan Jnr then won the consolation race from Stuart Mitchell and Aldridge.
Wullie Draeger failed to grid for the final, which was a drawn one, leaving Holly Glen on pole with J. Broatch and when the green flag dropped whilst Glen led she had Broatch looking for a way through. John Hogg dropped to the tail of the grid and whilst Broatch took the lead on lap two he soon had Adcroft on his back bumper. Aldridge slowed to retire as Adcroft began to pull away from the field whilst Dennis Middler quickly moved into third but had Burgoyne closing. Burgoyne was through into second on lap nine but Dawson slowed to retire with a puncture and when Broatch hit the wall then the infield armco the race was suspended.
On the restart Adcroft made a good start but a lap later Burgoyne nudged him wide before slipping through into the lead. Adcroft was coming under pressure and when Middler used the bumper he dropped two spots running behind Paul Ford. There was little change after that with Burgoyne going through to win the Forth Fire sponsored World Championship qualifying round final from Middler and Ford.
Middler then won the Grand National from Ford and MacMillan Jnr with Burgoyne in sixth place.

STIRLING DOMINATES
Alan Stirling went on to win the opening heat from Stuart Shevill Jnr and Neil McLaughlin. Stirling made it two in a row when he won heat two this time finishing ahead of Shevill Jnr and Glen Heeps.
Stirling was soon through into the lead when the final started but Heeps was running in close order. However the latter lost ground when lapping a back marker allowing Stirling to pull away to win from Chris Lattka and Shevill Jnr.

DONALDSON GRABS A HAT TRICK
The hot rod races were won by Ian Donaldson who led home Billy Bonnar and Craig McLaren in both heats. During the final McLaren spun on the main straight and somehow held the car so it only brushed the wall as Donaldson again won from Bonnar and McLaren.

THREE WINNERS IN THE RAIN!
Despite the conditions the ministox drivers were in good form.
Liam Rennie went through to win the opening heat from Gemma Russell and Camie McGowan. Kieran Howie ran away with heat two crossing the finish line clear of Zak Gilmour and Rennie. Russell grabbed her win in heat three after dicing with Rennie for most of the time and just beat him to the line with McGowan in third.
